Welcome to the West Wight Landscape Partnership
The Heritage
Lottery Fund has awarded a planning grant of £48,000 to the West Wight Regeneration
Partnership to help develop a series of projects focussed on the local landscape,
heritage and culture. This grant will now enable the West Wight to create a strategic
plan for its long term future, based around its local heritage, both natural
and built. This in turn could lead to applications for further and more significant
funding grant funding of up to £2 million in 2005.
The West Wight Regeneration Partnership was launched in September 2003 to attract
funding to help support and develop the local community.
Members include representatives of all the West Wight Parish Councils and the area's five Isle of Wight Council members. This grant has enabled the creation of the West Wight Landscape Partnership, which will undertake a combination of research and local consultation, to identify a number of practical projects that will not only preserve local heritage and landscape but benefit the local West Wight economy and community.
